Compass Club is an initiative by Coilte that gets kids to swop 'screen-time’ for playtime in the country’s forests. It’s all about getting kids into the great outdoors, specifically into Coillte’s forests and woodland areas across the country. Compass Club hold after-school courses, Summer and Easter camps. Fun activities include shelter-building, scavenger hunts, survival skills, map-reading and marshmallow-toasting.
Following a competitive tender, Shape Branding were chosen to work with us to develop our new Kids Outdoor Activities consumer brand. They brought great passion, insight and ideas to the table and helped us greatly in capturing the essence of what we’re about while developing of our brand. Consumer reaction has been very positive so far and we’re growing our presence and awareness nationally, ably assisted and guided along this journey by Shape Branding. One standout thing was their management of and engagement with focus groups to really distil the insights and that work will contribute both short term and long term to our business. Compass Club by Coillte
After completing their three year pilot programme, we were selected by Coillte to develop the Compass Club brand. Our role was to create a brand identity (inc. logo, colours, fonts and tagline) for Compass Club that connects with both kids, parents and schools. To develop the awareness campaign we started with consumer research followed by our design team creating a consistent set of marketing materials including brochures, posters and digital banners. We also produced a series of radio commercials which are being broadcast nationwide as the programme continues to roll out. Compass Club engenders so many great things – fun, learning, exercise, nature, imagination and fresh air. The response from the public has been phenomenal and Coillte are now fast-tracking new woodland venues throughout the country to keep up with the demand.
